WELCOME TO THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL
.Teachers and Staff at Happy Faces and Cumbres School are delighted to welcome all our students to our first official week of the 2022-2023 school year. We are all looking forward to all the exciting (and new) things that will be taking place this year, making out school even better than the excellent school it has always been.
We want tothank all parents who attended our Open House sessions this week, and remind you that – as teachers shared in the Open House- we will be using the Blogs to keep everyone informed of what is going on at school. Please make sure that you bookmark on your device both this blog as well as the blog(s) of your child(ren) on your device so that you can always have this information at the tip of your fingers. You can always find the list of all school blogs at the right of this All School Blog. You can also find other relevant information in the list under IMPORTANT INFORMATION to the right, such as the School Calendar, our Discipline Plan, Homework Policy and more.
This first week of school, teachers will be getting to know their students, and will be working with them to build a sense of community in each of the classes. Setting effective routines is important in order to have a smooth and successful school year. In that regard, please make sure your child arrives to school promptly between 7:30 – 7:55 a.m. Pack a healthy snack (and lunch if that is the case), and make sure your child has all the necessary school supplies. If your child is not riding the bus, we kindly ask that you plan ahead so that you can pick your child up at the established time for dismissal.
Here are some things to look forward to in August:
· Our After School Activities (ASA) program will begin on Tuesday, August 30. We will be sharing this information with you very soon! Our teachers are excited about working with students in different afterschool clubs that will focus on sports, creativity and lots of fun.
· We will be inviting parents to join our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) very soon! Please be on the lookout for this invitation as we all work together to make this year a special one for our students.

Wednesday, August 24 Early Dismissal for Students (Teachers have a scheduled Professional Development for this afternoon)
Tuesday, August 30 After School Activities (ASA) begin

BIENVENIDOS A LA PRIMERA SEMANA DE CLASES
Los maestros y el personal de Happy Faces y Cumbres School estamos muy entusiasmados al darles la bienvenida a todos nuestros estudiantes a nuestra primera semana oficial del año escolar 2022-2023. Estamos ilusionados por todas las cosas emocionantes (y nuevas) que sucederán este año, haciendo que la escuela sea aún mejor que la excelente escuela que siempre ha sido.
Queremos agradecer de manera especial a todos los padres que asistieron a nuestros Open Houses esta semana, y asi mismo recordarles que, tal y como compartieron los maestros en sus reuniones de grado, utilizaremos los blogs para mantener a todos informados sobre lo que sucede en la escuela. Asegúrese de marcar como favorito en su dispositivo tanto este blog como los blogs del grado de su(s) hijo(s para que siempre pueda tener esta información al alcance de la mano. Siempre puede encontrar la lista de todos los blogs escolares a la derecha de este Blog. También puede encontrar otra información relevante en la lista en INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE a la derecha, como el Calendario Escolar, nuestro Plan de Disciplina, Política de Tareas y más.
Esta primera semana de clases, los maestros conocerán a sus alumnos y trabajarán con ellos para crear un sentido de comunidad en cada una de las clases. El establecer rutinas efectivas es importante para tener un año escolar tranquilo y exitoso. En ese sentido, asegúrese de que su hijo llegue a la escuela puntualmente entre las 7:30 y las 7:55 a. m. Prepare una merienda saludable (y el almuerzo si ese es el caso) y asegúrese de que su hijo tenga todos los útiles escolares necesarios. Si su hijo no viaja en el autobús, le pedimos amablemente que planifique con anticipación para que pueda recoger a su hijo a la hora establecida para la salida.
Aquí hay algunas cosas que esperar en agosto:
· Nuestro programa de Actividades Extracurriculares (ASA por su siglas en inglés) comenzará el martes 30 de agosto. ¡Muy pronto compartiremos esta información con usted! Nuestros maestros están emocionados de poder trabajar con estudiantes en diferentes clubes extracurriculares que se enfocarán en deportes, creatividad y mucha diversión.
· ¡Estaremos invitando a los padres a unirse a nuestra Organización de Padres y Maestros (PTO por sus siglas en inglés) muy pronto! Esté atento a esta invitación que nos permitirá trabajar juntos para hacer que este año sea especial para nuestros estudiantes.

Miércoles 24 de agosto Salida temprana para estudiantes (los maestros tienen un desarrollo profesional programado para esta tarde)
Martes 30 de agosto Comienzan las Actividades Extracurriculares (ASA)
